Sure it is a 911 conspiracy post, but one that might make a difference in your opinion if you are not convinced that there is a good chance of it being an inside job. Charlie did a great job raising the important questions that should be answered in a manner that the non-conspirators will get without the hype.

I think you will find this interesting. The NYT is actually getting more fun to read. Like I can stand even picking it up now. This old rag is actually growing either some sort of spine or at least and exoskeleton (that it will shed when this storm is over). In Emanuel Wields Power Freely, and Faces the Risks You get how the Clintons put Rahm down when they were in power and how he's getting revenge and much more.

Are you starting to figure out who the figurehead is and who the power broker is?

So you think he's running the show and then you get this, "Mr. Emanuel presides over a White House where people are defined by whether they went through the fires of the campaign. He did not. When Mr. Obama invited longtime aides like Mr. Axelrod and Robert Gibbs, the press secretary, to Camp David recently, Mr. Emanuel was not included." So the big O is not comfortable including Rahm in "certain" crowds. Gee I wonder why? So many options here from O getting embarrassed by Rahm's overpowering ADD behavior, or is Rahm really the boss or is O the boss and he can't expose Rahm to certain situations? Who knows. Bottom line is it sounds like they are not a team, but they are a team, but they are not a team yet again.

With one minute left on the vote clock, he called the ally, Representative Peter T. So you have the chief of staff calling the floor during votes looking for results? Wow.

Then you should remember this issue I pointed out several posts ago, "That is not to say Mr. Emanuel does not still play hardball. What an ass. Talk about hanging a noose over some one's head in a great recession. "Representative Darrell Issa of California, the ranking Republican on a House oversight committee, vowed to investigate Mr. Emanuel’s involvement in sending the letter, and in an interview he questioned the sincerity of Mr. Emanuel’s outreach to Republicans. “He’ll smile and at the same time he flips you the bird,” Mr. Issa said. “The best way to describe Rahm is that he’s a brass-knuckle Chicago politician.”"

"After a last-minute decision to have the president go to Saudi Arabia yielded no tangible results, Mr. Emanuel pushed to ensure that future foreign trips had “deliverables,” or achievements secured in advance." So if there is no "deliverable" the president does not go. That's just great. He's gonna handle national issues as if he was 4 and if they can't win then they won't play.

Please read the article. It is a good one and gives great insight into what I perceive as a White House divided. A mad man running the show from behind the curtain that is as dangerous as anyone. I'll lay odds that Rahm does not last the 4 years O is in office. Heck given O's track record thus far, he may not make it 4 years either.

Remember this blog is all about discussion of high tension issues and racism is at the peak of the list. Unless you have spent the last two weeks on Mars, you should have herd the commotion surrounding the Obama as the Joker posters. This post is to garner opinion on is it a racist act or not and why. That simple.

In Obama as The Joker: Racial Fear's Ugly Face Mr. Nennicot says, "Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can't be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he's black." Um, OK, sure I drew that conclusion as well, yeah, right, I can see that. WTF? This dude is beyond paranoid and has had one too many trips to the green shoot pipe IMO. Sounds like he has a really large inferiority complex IMO.

In the article Is the Obama Joker Picture Racist? on Associated Content takes the view, "The racially charged notion of "The only thing missing is a noose" seems to be a typical playing of the race card. There is nothing in the Obama Joker Picture that suggests race. The caption "Socialism" suggests a political attack more than anything else. The accusation seems to be a way to try to stop debate and to smear the people, whomever they are, who have been distributing the Obama Joker Picture."

The "only thing missing is a noose" is referred to in almost every article you read on the subject. Steven Mikulan of the LA Weekly garnered the most vies with that utterance. In his New Anti-Obama 'Joker' Poster Steven states, "It has a bit of everything to appeal to the drunk tank of California conservatism: Obama is in white face, his mouth (like Ledger's Joker's) has been grotesquely slit wide open and the word "Socialism" appears below his face. The only thing missing is a noose.". In a really worthless blurb of an article, this one sentence seems to have caught the attention of the world.

Alex Jones on www.Infowars.com has a $1000 contest for the best video showing the display of the posters. He is very clear that this is not a race issue and that he is using the posters featuring the words fascism, socialism, new world order or his website address as a message to the people to get out there and get the word out about the atrocities we are facing from an ever oppressive government.

The race card is a tough subject. Racism does exist and will always exist as long as we have people of different color, religions and backgrounds. Don't forget that racism works both ways in various forms. Racism's definition has changed dramatically over the past 20 years as well. I do not see anything remotely racist about the poster. I see it as a political statement against a government that has robbed us blind and fucked us every way possible, and we just happen to have a black (sort of black) president in a political poster.

So where is the racism? I don't get it. If the argument is a black man in white face, then IMO what is the big deal. I've seen worse. If the racism is an attack on the president because he is black, that is bullshit because he has a awful approval rating, thus he is doing a shitty job and the "purported" attack is politically motivated not racially.

The fact is that he is black (sort of), and he is now being subjected to what white presidents have been burdened by throughout history. So, what makes him different? Tes, there was a Bush Joker poster as well. He is a man running the most powerful nation on the planet and he's gonna get the same amount of shit that his predecessors got. It is that simple. It comes with the territory so to speak. So to those crying racism, fughetaboutit. The game he's playing trancends this card.

Now, this may be a racist Obama poster you have not herd about - Texas judge defends his racist poster showing Obama supporters as criminals: ‘I don’t consider it racist.’. This one and the Obama tinky-winky one I won't dipute.

A Smattering Of Factual Things

A feature I may be tempted to up date daily (in order to be fair to both sides) is the Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. "Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet recorded. The President’s ratings first fell below 50% just a few weeks ago on July 25. Fifty-two percent (52%) now disapprove." This was a "nicer" set of numbers. I could have gone for worse.

Drudge brings the Boston Globe's State takes extra steps to battle flu in fall. Swine flu will be a huge deal this fall and the fact that they may try to force us to get the vaccine will be the next major political uprising as I see it. Gerald Celente has a good piece on infowars about this. That dude is scary accurate with his predictions.

Leave it up to HP to dig this one up. Gotta givem 'em credit. When they get it right they are good at it. Internal Memo Confirms Big Giveaways In White House Deal With Big Pharma "It says the White House agreed to oppose any congressional efforts to use the government's leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada -- and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements." Thanks you bunch of assholes for having our backs in these negotiations and not caving in. Remember, the HC plan is fine just how it is.

Obama Really Screwed This One Up. Can't We All Just Get Along?

Man this HC issue needs a kumbayah moment. I guess I am getting 1)what I expected, 2) what I wanted and 3) I want some more cause it makes for good blog posts and great TV! Let's get out the popcorn.

Today I viewed the Huffington Post (yeah, I know HP exists and can visit briefly without getting sick to my stomach). In an effort to be politically correct on an irreverent political commentary blog, I need to see what both sides are saying and since the republicans are basically spewing shit and babbling like some crack head that got hold the wrong stuff, I went to the Left team's HQ to see what was happening.

Let's start with the big red headliner - Grassley Endorses "Death Panel" Rumor: "You Have Every Right To Fear". "In making his remarks, Grassley becomes the latest in a string of GOP lawmakers to jump on a myth about the health care legislation produced by the House of Representatives. The most infamous statement was made last week by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who declared that the President's health care plan would set up a "death panel" to determine whether or not to euthanize her son with Down Syndrome." HP goes on with another post - Weekly Pulse: Mob Scene - "Here's the latest news on the health care front: Republicans and their allies are pressuring Democratic health care reformers at town hall meetings around the country. Addie Stan has a blockbuster piece in AlterNet that exposes the network of corporate funders and lobbyists behind the mobs."
OK, well, how bout that! Now we have the corporates exposed behind the mobs. That did not take long did it?

And we'll end the HP saga with - How To Fight Heath care Fear mongers and Demagogues - "But why are they getting away with it? Why aren't progressives -- indeed, why aren't ordinary citizens -- taking the meetings back?"

OK, ain't all that something? Corporations funding mobs of gun toting, poster tearing fear mongers that believe there will be a "death panel" to put grandma down when she ain't ready to go. I think I got all that right. Freaking bloggers wet dream is what it is. The Daily Show does not write shit this good (LOL). Dig this from the how to fight post "The White House has just announced a web page designed to rebut some of the insane charges that the right is instigating. That won't be enough. The President has to be more specific about what he's for and what he's against. Without these specifics, the right can conjure up every demon in its arsenal while the middle and left can only shrug their shoulders." BINGO! (and I'm not sure the middle is shrugging shoulders - don't be so quick to put them in line with the Left team).

This is it. The NUTS as we say here in the south. What does the left miss throughout the whole argument? What is the one simple thing that we all could agree on? OBAMA SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRIED TO CRAM IT DOWN OUR THROATS IN THE FIRST FREAKING PLACE! If King Obinhood had just backed off, taken a blue pill and not gotten all uppity (a very strong lefty trait IMO) and not tried to force this bill on us where do you think we would be? Not here for sure.

Your president screwed the pooch on this one. Let's call it a brief case of Bushitis (wondered if that is covered in the bill - probably might as well put that condition in the death group with grandma, cause there is no cure for that).

The Specter TH Meeting And Denninger Slams the RNC

In To The RNC: WAKE UP Karl pummels the RNC. Deservedly so! Karl got a call from some sap soliciting donations and he let the poor dude have it. Karl wants the people that brought this recession on us punished, and I do to. The republicans had the wheel and took their eyes off of the road to allow (protect) their big donor special interest groups (pick any fortune 500 company mainly the banks) to reap (rape) all of us and should be held accountable. I guess the fact that most got voted out is one form of punishment, but some time like Vick served in Leavenworth is more of what I am looking for. I agree with Denninger's post 100%. Please take a moment to read this post.

While watching the Specter TH meeting on MSNBC this am, Ratigan had a republican rep on and all he could say is that "we don't have the power to do anything. We are outvoted", and Dylan let him have it for allowing all of this crap to happen and reminded him that when they did have the power all they did was screw everything up. Amen brother! Now the republicans (as Dylan pointed out) are doing nothing but causing problems and acting in a pure partisan stance instead of developing viable alternatives and taking advantage of this great opportunity to rebuild and unite the party. Amen again!

The Specter TH meeting was classic. I was very proud of the 30 people asking the questions. They were tough but polite. Congratulations to all of them. The best question came at #30 IMO. It appears that Arlen had no clue that Rahm had asked everyone to nark on their neighbor. LOL, my ass he did not know. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the flip floppers answers to the many issues and questions he promised to address.

As for my thoughts, I think the boys in DC are really screwed up. I agree that we need a viable solution to the HC issues, but one that does not take away our right to choose, provides the same covg that we have now, provides for those in need, does not trample the constitution, and one that does not cost a penny cause (if you have not noticed) we ain't got any money. I would like to see the bill put on hold and see if any efficiencies can be created thru reform of current practices. One idea that came from the Spector meeting was - have a referendum and let us chose the new HC bill. Now that is a novel idea!

Age of Reason made some good points in the comments section on the last post and I need to clarify some things. 1) It was a quick post and I should have been more clear and thoughtful in my commentary. 2) I was inebriated which is unusual for me when posting, but being my blog and I was having fun I screwed up. You deserve more and I won't make that mistake again. 3) Thanks for all of the great commentary so far. I will need your help and guidance to get this right so we all enjoy it, so keep the comments good or bad rolling in. 4) I can handle the market and TA commentary really well and will do my best to make this blog just as good. 5) You will learn that I usually stand on the side of reason and will lean to a more conservative stance.

Things are rolling fast and furious with the HC issue. The Specter TH meeting today was great. I'll post tonight on both his and O's meetings today.

The New Frontier

I decided to begin a new blog! Woo Hoo! More work for me, Like I have the time. What is the point you ask? Shanky, you already spew enough irreverent talk at the financial markets, why pick on the politicos?

Well, as corrupt as the financial markets are the political scene is even more ripe for my abuse. I do not want to mix business with pleasure. Bashing anything political that I see fit will be the pleasure side of the business. So many easy targets over here and I do not want to polute my fine Shanky's Tech Blog with the crap you get in the general populace of the governmental realm.

I want this to be a site for general rants about anything WE see wrong. That means you too dear reader. Have at it in the comments section, collaberate with other readers, share opinions, Ideas, links, and send me tips or ideas and feedback via the email address above.
